Reverend Keith T. Evans

Reverend Keith T. Evans serves as Pastor of Greater Mt. Eagle Baptist Church in Racine, Wisconsin. A native of Flint, Michigan, he graduated from Northwestern High School in 1986, where he was a two-sport letterman in football and baseball and received the Optimist Club Scholar-Athlete Award. Following graduation, he attended Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, majoring in Electrical Engineering before answering God's call to ministry.

His love for God and passion for God's people led him to Nashville, Tennessee, where he pursued theological training at American Baptist College. Reverend Evans preached his initial sermon on December 25, 1991, and was ordained to the Gospel ministry in March 1994.

​

While at American Baptist College, Reverend Evans distinguished himself as a student leader. He served two consecutive terms as President of the Student Government Association and received the President's Award of Merit twice. He graduated in May 1994 with a degree in Theology and continued his theological studies in the Master of Divinity program at Grand Rapids Theological Seminary. Reverend Evans also completed the General Motors/UAW Electrical Apprenticeship Program and became a Journeyman Electrician.

In January 2002, Reverend Evans was called to serve as Pastor of Greater Mt. Eagle Baptist Church. Throughout more than two decades of pastoral ministry in Racine, he has maintained a strong commitment to preaching, Christian education, leadership development, community engagement, and service beyond the walls of the church.

​

His denominational leadership has included service as General Secretary of the Wisconsin General Baptist State Convention, Treasurer and Moderator of the Southeastern Wisconsin Baptist Pastors Fellowship, and Certified Instructor and Lecturer for the Wisconsin General Baptist State Congress. In August 2018, Reverend Evans was elected President of the Wisconsin General Baptist State Convention, Inc., serving eight years until the conclusion of his presidency in August 2026.

On the national level, Reverend Evans has lectured for the Young People's Department and preached Late Night for the National Baptist Congress of Christian Education. He serves on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of the National Baptist Convention, USA, Inc.

​

Reverend Evans' commitment to community service has included leadership and involvement with numerous civic organizations. He has served with the Racine YMCA Strong Communities initiative, the State Street Civic Association, the Racine Housing and Neighborhood Partnership, the Racine Interfaith Coalition, and the City of Racine Board of Ethics. He also concluded his service on the Versiti Blood Center of Wisconsin Advisory Board in 2026.

Reverend Evans is a Silver Life Member of the NAACP, a Gold Life Member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Incorporated, and a member of Southgate Lodge No. 6, Prince Hall Affiliated. His life and ministry reflect an enduring commitment to faith, family, education, leadership, and service.

Reverend Evans is married to the former Tonya C. Scott, also a native of Flint, Michigan. They are the proud parents of two daughters, Jasmine (Bobby) and Michaiah, and grandparents of C. J.
